Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Greymouth i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 164 Mackay Street, head south on Mackay Street towards the intersection with Herbert Street. Turn right onto Herbert Street and continue until you reach the intersection with State Highway 6. Cross over to the opposite side of the highway, taking care of traffic. Follow the footpath along State Highway 6 heading towards the south. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will come to the junction with Coast Road (also referred to as Te Miko Road). Turn left onto Coast Road and continue walking for approximately 6 kilometers. You will see signs for the Truman Track. The entrance will be on your right. The walk should take around 1 hour and 30 minutes in total.

  • Public Transport

    From the Greymouth town center, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Mackay Street. Take the latest bus heading towards Punakaiki (check local schedules for the bus service). Inform the driver that you want to get off at the nearest stop for the Truman Track. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Upon disembarking, follow the directional signs towards Coast Road, and you will find the entrance to the Truman Track a short walk away.
