Bus
To reach the Tirau i-SITE Visitor Centre from central Hamilton, start by heading to the Hamilton Transport Centre located at 5 Bryce Street. Catch the InterCity bus that travels south towards Taupo. Make sure to check the bus schedule for departure times. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Tirau i-SITE stop, which is located on State Highway 1. Once you arrive, the Visitor Centre will be just a short walk from the bus stop.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike rental shops in Hamilton. Start at the Hamilton Gardens and head south, following the cycle paths along the Waikato River. Continue until you reach the outskirts of the city, then follow the signs towards State Highway 1. Once you reach the highway, carefully navigate towards Tīrau, which is about 35 km away. The Tirau i-SITE Visitor Centre is located directly off the highway.

Walking to the Tirau i-SITE Visitor Centre is not practical due to the distance (approximately 35 km) from Hamilton. However, if you are near the Hamilton Gardens, you can enjoy a lovely stroll there and then head back to the city center to catch a bus or bike rental to Tīrau. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and carry water for your journey.
