If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Havelock North, which is about 15 kilometers from Hastings. From Havelock North, follow Havelock Road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Te Mata Peak Road. Continue driving for about 5 kilometers, and you will reach the entrance to Te Mata Park. Note that there is no entry fee for the park. There is ample parking available at the peak.

To reach Te Mata Peak via public transportation, take a bus from Hastings or Napier to Havelock North. The bus service is provided by the bus company called 'GoBay.'
