From Nelson city center, head to the Nelson Bus Station located on 1 Bridge Street. Take the 'Abel Tasman' bus service which operates regularly to Mārahau. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for Abel Tasman Coast Track & Sandy Bay-Marahau Rd. Once you arrive in Mārahau, the track entrance is a short walk from the bus stop.

Walking
If you are already in the nearby area of Mārahau, you can walk to the Abel Tasman Coast Track. From the Mārahau village center, head towards the coast on Sandy Bay-Marahau Road. Follow the signs directing you to the Abel Tasman Coast Track. The entrance is clearly marked and is about a 15-20 minute walk from the village center along the scenic route.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can cycle from Nelson to Mārahau. Start at the Nelson city center and head south on SH6. Follow the road signs toward Motueka, then take the turnoff to Mārahau. The ride is approximately 50 km and will take around 2-3 hours, depending on your cycling speed. Once you reach Mārahau, park your bicycle near the Abel Tasman Coast Track entrance.
