For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Nelson to Marahau. The bus service runs several times a day and takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Marahau, you can either walk approximately 15 km along the Abel Tasman Coast Track to reach Medlands Beach or consider arranging a shuttle service that can take you directly to Medlands Beach from Marahau. Shuttle services may incur additional costs, typically around NZD 20-30 per person.

If you find yourself in one of the nearby bays like Anchorage or Bark Bay, you can walk to Medlands Beach via the Abel Tasman Coast Track.
