Walking
Start at the Nelson i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 74 Trafalgar Street. From the i-SITE, head south on Trafalgar Street towards the intersection with Hardy Street. Turn left onto Hardy Street. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the main road, State Highway 6. Cross the highway and follow the pedestrian path leading towards Tahunanui Beach. Once you reach the beach, turn left and walk along the beach promenade. After about 1 kilometer, you will see a pathway leading up the cliffside towards Fifeshire Rock. Follow this path up the hill until you reach the top, where you will find stunning views of the rock formation.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Nelson. Start at the Nelson i-SITE Visitor Centre and head south on Trafalgar Street. Turn left onto Hardy Street, and continue until you reach State Highway 6. Use the bike lane to cross the highway and follow the signs towards Tahunanui Beach. Once at the beach, turn left and bike along the promenade. After about 1 kilometer, look for the path leading up the cliff towards Fifeshire Rock. Please be cautious as the path may be steep and rocky. Enjoy the ride and the beautiful scenery!
Public Transport
Take the local bus from the Nelson bus terminal. Look for a bus heading towards Tahunanui. Get off at the stop closest to the Tahunanui Beach area. From there, walk towards the beach and turn left to follow the beach promenade. After about 1 kilometer, you'll find the pathway leading up the cliff to Fifeshire Rock. This is a scenic route, but be prepared for a bit of a hike to reach the top.
