Getting There

Walking

From the centre of New Plymouth, head east on Devon Street West. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Robe Street. Turn left onto Robe Street and walk straight for about 1 kilometre. You will see Marsland Hill on your right side. As you approach, look for signs indicating the New Plymouth Observatory. The observatory is located at the top of Marsland Hill.
Public Transport

Start at the New Plymouth Bus Terminal located on Brougham Street. Take the local bus service heading toward the New Plymouth Central area. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Robe Street and Devon Street. From there, walk east along Robe Street until you reach Marsland Hill. The observatory is situated at the top of the hill, just follow the signs.
Bicycle

If you have access to a bicycle, start from the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway. Ride toward the central city area and then head towards Devon Street West. Once you reach Devon Street, turn left and bike until you reach the intersection with Robe Street. Turn left onto Robe Street and continue straight until you reach Marsland Hill. The observatory is located at the top of the hill.
