Getting There

Walking
From Paihia's main beach, head south on Marsden Road towards the intersection with Williams Road. Continue straight as Marsden Road turns into Waitangi Road. Follow the road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Waitangi Treaty Grounds entrance on your left, located at Tau Henare Drive. The grounds are well-signposted, and you will see the iconic flagpole as you approach.

Public Bus
Catch the local bus service from Paihia to Waitangi. The bus stop is located near the Paihia wharf. Make sure to check the bus schedule as it may vary. Once on the bus, ask the driver to let you know when you reach the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes. After disembarking, walk a short distance towards Tau Henare Drive where the entrance is located.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Paihia. Head south on Marsden Road, which turns into Waitangi Road. Continue cycling for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds at Tau Henare Drive. There are bike racks available at the entrance for secure parking.
