From the center of Paihia, head towards the Paihia Wharf on Marsden Road. Follow the road as it curves around the bay. After passing the wharf, continue on Marsden Road until you reach the intersection with Waitangi Road. Turn left onto Waitangi Road. Keep walking straight; you will see signs directing you to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The Te Kōngahu Museum of Waitangi is located within these grounds. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes, and the distance is around 2.5 kilometers.

From Paihia, you can take a local bus service to Waitangi. Head to the nearest bus stop on Marsden Road near the Paihia Wharf. Look for buses that are heading towards Waitangi. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes. Once you arrive at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds stop, follow the signs to the museum. The museum is a short walk from the bus stop, approximately 5 minutes away.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Paihia. Start from the main beach area and head along Marsden Road, following the same route as if you were walking. The ride will be faster, taking approximately 10-15 minutes, and you can easily lock your bike at the entrance of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The museum is a short distance inside the grounds.
