The total drive time is approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Tauranga Bay from Punakaiki. However, you can take a bus from Punakaiki to Westport (check local bus schedules for times). Once in Westport, you can hire a taxi or use a rideshare service to reach the Seal Colony Tauranga Bay, which is about 40 kilometers away.
