Walking
If you are starting from the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 1167 Fenton Street, exit the centre and turn left onto Fenton Street. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Oruawhata Drive. Turn right onto Oruawhata Drive and continue walking for another 5 minutes. You'll see the entrance to the Government Gardens on your left. The Rotorua Museum is located within the gardens, easily accessible.

Public Bus
From the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre, head to the nearby bus stop at the corner of Fenton Street and Tutanekai Street. Take the Route 1 bus towards Ngongotaha. After approximately 5 minutes, get off at the Government Gardens stop. From there, it’s just a short walk through the gardens to reach the Rotorua Museum, which is located at the end of Oruawhata Drive.
