If you are starting from the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 1170 Fenton Street, head south on Fenton Street towards the intersection with Queens Drive. Turn right onto Queens Drive, and continue walking for about 1 kilometer. You will see the entrance to Government Gardens on your left at 9 Queens Drive. The walk should take around 15-20 minutes.

From the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Fenton Street. Catch the Rotorua Cityride bus heading towards the city center. Get off at the stop nearest to Government Gardens, which is typically at the intersection of Queens Drive and Whakaue Street. From there, it is a short 5-minute walk to Government Gardens, located at 9 Queens Drive.
