Getting There

Walking
From the Taupo town center, head south on Tongariro Street towards the lakefront. As you reach the lake, take a left onto Lake Terrace. Continue walking on Lake Terrace until you reach the intersection with Spa Road. This should take about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach Spa Road, turn right and continue walking up Spa Road for approximately 1.5 kilometers.

After walking along Spa Road, look for the entrance to Spa Park on your left. The entrance is marked and should be easily visible. Enter the park and follow the path that leads to the Otumuheke Stream (Spa Park Hot Pools). It will take around 10 minutes to walk through the park to reach the hot pools.

Public Transport
If you're near the Taupo i-SITE Visitor Information Centre, you can take a local bus (check the local bus schedule for specific routes) towards Spa Road. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at Spa Park. Once you arrive, follow the walking path from the bus stop into Spa Park to reach Otumuheke Stream (Spa Park Hot Pools).

If you have access to a bike, you can rent one from various rental shops in Taupo. Start from Taupo town center and bike down to Lake Terrace, continuing along the lakefront. Follow the same route as the walking directions until you reach Spa Road. Biking will get you to Spa Park in about 10-15 minutes, and you can park your bike near the entrance.
