    From the Taupo town center, head northeast on Tongariro St toward Lake Terrace. Continue straight onto Ruapehu St, then turn left onto Lake Terrace. Follow Lake Terrace as it curves to the right and becomes State Highway 1 (SH1). Keep walking along SH1 for about 4 kilometers. You will see signs for Huka Falls directing you to the left. Follow the signs to the Huka Falls car park. The walking path from the car park to the falls is well-marked and only takes about 10 minutes.

    From Taupo town center, walk to the nearest bus stop on Tongariro Street. Take the 'Huka Falls' bus, which runs regularly. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Huka Falls stop, which is right by the entrance to the falls. From there, it's a short walk to the viewing platforms.

    Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Taupo. Head northeast on Tongariro St toward Lake Terrace and then continue onto Ruapehu St. Turn left onto Lake Terrace and follow it as it curves onto State Highway 1 (SH1). Biking along SH1, you will see signs for Huka Falls. The ride takes about 20 minutes. There is a bike rack available at the falls.
