Getting There

Walking
Start in the center of Wanaka at the Wanaka Lakefront, located along the lake's edge. Head southeast along the lakefront path, enjoying the scenic views of Lake Wanaka. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers. As you approach the end of the lakefront path, you will see a sign for Beacon Point. Follow the path that leads upwards towards Beacon Point, which will take you through a beautiful wooded area. The walk will take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views over the lake and surrounding mountains.

Bicycle
If you have a bicycle, you can start from the Wanaka town center. From your starting point, head towards the lake and follow the lakeside road (Lake Wanaka Way) that runs parallel to the lake. Continue on this road for about 2 kilometers, which will take you to the Beacon Point area. Look for signs directing you towards the Beacon Point walking track. The bike ride should take approximately 10-15 minutes, and you can lock your bike at the designated bike stands near the entrance of the walking track.
