From Wanaka, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located at 100 Ardmore Street, Wanaka. You can catch the 'Connectabus' service towards Cromwell. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of time for departure times. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Cromwell bus stop.

Walk
Once you arrive at the Cromwell bus stop, you will need to walk to the Cromwell Chafer Beetle Nature Reserve. Head east on State Highway 8 for about 1.5 kilometers. You will need to cross the bridge over the Kawarau River. After crossing the bridge, take a left onto Bannockburn Road. Continue walking for about 2 kilometers until you reach the reserve, which will be on your right. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the nature reserve.
