Walking
Start your journey at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 103 Ardmore Street. Head southeast on Ardmore Street toward the lake. Continue walking along the lakefront promenade, enjoying the scenic views of Lake Wanaka. Follow the path until you reach the junction with Lakeside Road. Turn left onto Lakeside Road and continue until you reach the intersection with State Highway 6. At this point, you can either take a bus or continue walking along State Highway 6 towards Cromwell.

From the Wanaka i-SITE, walk to the nearest bus stop on Ardmore Street. Look for the bus that heads to Cromwell; this is typically the 'Wanaka to Cromwell' bus service. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Cromwell, disembark at the Cromwell Town Centre stop.

Walking (from Cromwell to The Junction Lookout)
Upon arriving in Cromwell, walk towards the intersection of State Highway 8 and Barry Avenue. Head east on Barry Avenue, then turn left onto State Highway 8. Continue walking along State Highway 8 for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for the sign for The Junction Lookout on your right. Follow this path uphill until you reach the lookout, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
