Walking
From the center of Wanaka, head south on Ardmore Street towards the lakefront. Continue walking until you reach the end of the street, where you will find the lake. Turn right onto the lakefront pathway. Follow the path along the shore of Roys Bay. Keep walking for approximately 20 minutes, enjoying the scenic views of the lake and mountains. After reaching the end of the pathway, you will see #ThatWanakaTree situated in the water. It is located at 59 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road, so you may need to navigate around the bay to get a closer view.

Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Wanaka. Start at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre and head south along Ardmore Street, then turn onto the lakefront pathway. Continue riding along the shore of Roys Bay for about 10-15 minutes. The tree will be visible as you approach the area near 59 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road. Make sure to secure your bike in a safe spot before walking closer to the tree.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre, take the local bus service that heads towards the outskirts of Wanaka. Ask the driver to let you off at the stop closest to Roys Bay. The journey should take about 10 minutes. Once you disembark, walk towards the lake, and you will see #ThatWanakaTree in the distance. It’s just a short walk along the shoreline.
