Walking
If you are in the central part of Wellington, head towards Cuba Street, which is known for its vibrant shops and cafes. From Cuba Street, walk towards Victoria Street and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Wakefield Street. Turn right onto Wakefield Street and then take a left onto Taranaki Street. Follow Taranaki Street until you reach the intersection with Victoria Waterfront. Continue until you see Te Ngākau Civic Square on your left. The City Gallery Wellington is located within this square.

If you are near a bus stop, catch any bus heading towards the Wellington City Centre. Buses frequently run to the central area. Once you get off at the Wellington City Bus Terminal, exit towards the Civic Square. From the bus terminal, walk towards the direction of Te Ngākau Civic Square; you should see signs directing you to the City Gallery Wellington. It is just a short walk from the bus terminal.

Tram (Cable Car)
Start by taking the Wellington Cable Car from the Lambton Quay area to the Kelburn lookout. Once at the top, you can enjoy a scenic view of the city. After enjoying the view, walk back to the Cable Car Station and board the cable car back down. Once you return to Lambton Quay, walk towards the Civic Square; you can follow the signs or ask locals for the nearest route to Te Ngākau Civic Square, where the City Gallery Wellington is located.
