From the Wellington central business district, start at the Wellington Waterfront. Head southeast along the waterfront path towards Oriental Bay. Continue along the waterfront until you reach the end of the beach, where you'll find the entrance to the Mount Victoria Loop Track. Follow the track signs that guide you towards the summit of Mount Victoria. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes and will lead you through a scenic route surrounded by native bush. As you ascend, you will enjoy stunning views of Wellington City and the harbor.

From Wellington's central city area, make your way to the nearest bus stop, such as the one on Wakefield Street. Take bus number 2 or 14, which heads towards Hataitai.
