Start at Wellington's Central Bus Station, located at 81 Manuel Place. Board the number 3 bus towards Karori. The bus will take you through the city and into the suburbs. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop called 'Karori Park'. From the bus stop, walk up Karori Road towards Wrights Hill Road. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach Wrights Hill Road. Turn left onto Wrights Hill Road, and continue walking for roughly 15-20 minutes. The fortress will be on your right, and you should see the entrance signs.

If you are already in the Karori area, you can walk directly to Wrights Hill Fortress. Start from the Karori Library located at 2 Beauchamp Street. Head west on Beauchamp Street, then turn onto Karori Road and walk for about 15 minutes until you reach Wrights Hill Road. Turn left onto Wrights Hill Road and continue walking for another 20 minutes. The fortress will be on your right, with clear signage marking the entrance.

For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike rental shops in the city center. Start your ride at the waterfront cycle path and head towards the suburbs. Follow the signs to Karori via the cycle paths. After reaching Karori, navigate to Wrights Hill Road. The uphill ride can be challenging, so ensure your bike is equipped for steep inclines. Expect the journey to take about 30-40 minutes depending on your speed and traffic.
