Start your journey from the center of Greymouth, specifically at the Greymouth i-SITE located on Mackay Street. From there, head south on Mackay Street towards the intersection with Tainui Street. Turn left onto Tainui Street and continue walking until you reach the end of the street. Next, turn right onto Water Walk Road. Continue along Water Walk Road; you will pass by some beautiful scenery and eventually reach the River of Life Staircase located at 67 Water Walk Road. The staircase will be on your right, and you can easily spot it as you approach.

If you prefer using public transport, head to the nearest bus stop located on Mackay Street near the Greymouth i-SITE. Take the local bus heading towards the Greymouth River Walk route. Inform the driver you want to get off at the Water Walk Road stop. Once you get off, walk a few meters along Water Walk Road, and you will find the River of Life Staircase at 67 Water Walk Road.
