From the Whanganui city center, start at the Whanganui Riverfront. Head west along the river until you reach the intersection with Victoria Avenue. Continue along Victoria Avenue heading northwest until you reach the roundabout at the intersection with Heads Road. Take the second exit to stay on Heads Road. Follow Heads Road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Rangiora Street. Turn right onto Rangiora Street and walk straight for approximately 1 kilometer. Castlecliff Beach will be on your left.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Whanganui. Start at the Whanganui Riverfront and cycle west towards Victoria Avenue. Continue along Victoria Avenue until you reach the roundabout at Heads Road. Take the second exit onto Heads Road and cycle straight for about 1.5 kilometers. When you reach the intersection with Rangiora Street, turn right. Continue along Rangiora Street for about 1 kilometer, and you will find Castlecliff Beach on your left side.

To reach Castlecliff Beach via public transport, find the nearest bus stop in Whanganui city center. Take the bus route that goes towards Castlecliff. The bus should have stops at popular locations in Castlecliff. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop closest to Rangiora Street. Once you get off, walk along Rangiora Street towards the beach, which will be on your left after a short walk of about 500 meters.
