Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Whanganui Riverfront, head east on Taupo Quay towards the intersection with Victoria Avenue. Cross the road and continue straight on Victoria Avenue, which will become St Hill Street. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the intersection with Anzac Parade. Turn right onto Anzac Parade, and continue walking for about 5 minutes. You will see the Durie Hill Elevator entrance at 42 Anzac Parade on your left.

    From the central Whanganui bus station, take Bus Route 1 towards Durie Hill. The bus will take you along Victoria Avenue. Get off at the 'Anzac Parade' stop, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. Once you exit the bus, walk back along Anzac Parade for about 5 minutes. The Durie Hill Elevator will be located at 42 Anzac Parade, on your left.
