Walking
If you are starting from the Whanganui city centre, begin at the Whanganui Riverfront. Walk towards Victoria Avenue and head west. Continue on Victoria Avenue until you reach the traffic lights at the intersection with Ridgway Street. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing. Follow Ridgway Street until you reach the junction with Castlecliff Road. Turn right onto Castlecliff Road and continue walking. After about 1 km, you will see a sign for Castlecliff Beach. Continue straight until you reach Rangiora Street, where you will find the beach access.

Public Transport - Bus
From Whanganui city centre, head to the nearest bus stop on Victoria Avenue. Catch the bus heading towards Castlecliff. The bus service runs several times a day. Inform the driver you are going to Castlecliff Beach. The bus will take you along Castlecliff Road. Get off at the stop closest to Rangiora Street. From the bus stop, walk straight down Rangiora Street, and you will arrive at Castlecliff Beach shortly.
