    If you are starting from the Whanganui Riverbank, head east along Victoria Avenue until you reach the intersection with Ridgway Street. Turn left onto Ridgway Street and continue until you see the pedestrian entrance to the Durie Hill Elevator on your left. Take the elevator up to Durie Hill. Once you exit the elevator, walk straight ahead on Durie Hill Road. After a short walk, you will see Tower Crescent on your right. Turn right and follow Tower Crescent until you reach the War Memorial Tower at 2 Tower Crescent.

    From the Whanganui i-SITE Visitor Centre, take the bus heading towards Durie Hill. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to the Durie Hill Elevator. Once you get off, locate the entrance to the elevator, take it to the top, and then walk straight ahead on Durie Hill Road until you reach Tower Crescent. Turn right and walk to the War Memorial Tower at 2 Tower Crescent.
