Getting There

Walking
From the town of Moyogalpa, start at the main ferry terminal. Head south on the main road (NIC-66) towards San José del Sur. Walk along the road for about 4 kilometers until you reach the junction to San José del Sur. Continue straight, following the signs for NIC-66. After about 1 kilometer, you will see a sign indicating the direction to Bat Caves (cuevas de murciélagos). Follow the path leading towards the caves, which will be about 1 kilometer off the main road. The entrance to the caves is located at the end of this pathway.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from any of the local shops in Moyogalpa. Begin your ride at the Moyogalpa ferry terminal and head south on NIC-66 towards San José del Sur. Continue for approximately 4 kilometers until you reach the junction. Keep straight on NIC-66 for another kilometer until you see the signs for Bat Caves (cuevas de murciélagos). Turn onto the path leading to the caves, which is about 1 kilometer from the main road. The entrance will be at the end of this pathway.

Taxi
If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a local taxi from anywhere in Ometepe. Inform the driver that you would like to go to Bat Caves (cuevas de murciélagos). The driver will take you along NIC-66. If you are starting from Moyogalpa, it should take around 15 minutes. The taxi will drop you off at the entrance of the caves.
