If you are driving, take US-421 S from Wilmington. Follow US-421 S for about 15 miles until you reach the Kure Beach area. Once in Kure Beach, take a left onto Fort Fisher Blvd S. Continue on Fort Fisher Blvd S for approximately 2 miles, and you will see Fort Fisher State Historic Site on your right at 1610 Fort Fisher Blvd S, Kure Beach, NC 28449. There is parking available on-site.

To reach Fort Fisher State Historic Site by public transportation, you can take the Wave Transit bus service from Wilmington. Board the Route 1 bus at the Wilmington Transportation Center. The route will take you towards Carolina Beach. You will need to transfer to Route 3 at Carolina Beach to get to Kure Beach. Once you reach the Kure Beach area, you can either walk or take a local taxi/rideshare service to get to Fort Fisher State Historic Site, which is about 2 miles from the Carolina Beach stop.
