If you are driving from Wilmington, NC, take US-421 S. Continue on US-421 S for approximately 15 miles. Take the exit toward Kure Beach/Fort Fisher from US-421 S. Turn right onto Fort Fisher Blvd S (NC-50). Continue on Fort Fisher Blvd S for about 3 miles and you will arrive at Fort Fisher State Historic Site, located at 1610 Fort Fisher Blvd S, Kure Beach, NC 28449. There is free parking available on-site.

To reach Fort Fisher State Historic Site via public transportation, take the Wave Transit bus from downtown Wilmington to Carolina Beach. The bus journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes. The bus will drop you off near Fort Fisher Blvd. From there, it’s a short walk to Fort Fisher State Historic Site.
