Getting There

• Public Bus

  To reach Latta Place Historic Site from central Charlotte using public transportation, start by heading to the Charlotte Transportation Center located at 300 E Trade St. From there, take the CATS bus route 77 (the 'North Meck') heading towards Huntersville. Stay on the bus for approximately 45 minutes. You'll want to get off at the 'Sample Rd & McCoy Rd' stop. From the bus stop, walk approximately 0.5 miles north on Sample Rd until you reach Latta Place Historic Site located at 5225 Sample Rd.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike-share programs in Charlotte. Start your journey from the Uptown area, heading north on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. Follow the greenway until you reach the intersection with the 7th Street Extension. Continue on the greenway, which leads you towards North Tryon St. After connecting to North Tryon St, head north until you get to 5225 Sample Rd. The ride will take about an hour, depending on your pace.

• Walking

  If you're staying within a reasonable distance and prefer walking, start at the nearest major landmark such as the Charlotte Convention Center. Walk north on S College St until you reach E 7th St. Turn left onto E 7th St and continue walking until you reach North Tryon St. From there, you can catch the bus or consider walking further along North Tryon St, which will lead you into the Huntersville area. The total walking distance is approximately 15 miles, so be prepared for a long trek!
