Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Uptown Charlotte, start at the intersection of Trade Street and Tryon Street. Head east on Trade Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with E 4th St. Turn left onto E 4th St and walk for approximately 0.1 miles. The Mecklenburg Historic District will be on your right at 600 E 4th St. This is a pleasant walk, and you can enjoy the vibrant Uptown atmosphere along the way.

    You can also take the Charlotte Light Rail to get closer to the Mecklenburg Historic District. If you are near the 7th Street station, board the Blue Line train heading towards I-485/South Boulevard. Get off at the 3rd Street station (about a 2-minute ride). From there, walk east on E 3rd St for about 0.2 miles, then turn right onto E 4th St. The Mecklenburg Historic District will be located at 600 E 4th St on your left. Note that a single ride on the light rail costs $2.20.
