From the heart of Nantahala National Forest, head east on NC-19 toward Bryson City. Continue on NC-19 for approximately 15 miles until you reach the junction with US-441. Turn right onto US-441 South. After about 3 miles, take a left onto NC-28 South. Stay on NC-28 for about 12 miles until you reach Franklin. As you approach Franklin, you will see a sign for Cherokee Mine Road. Turn right onto Cherokee Mine Road.
