Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center, head east on E Front St toward S Craven St. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Broad St. Turn left onto Broad St and continue for another 0.3 miles. After that, turn right onto E 5th St and head south for about 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with Neuse Blvd. Cross Neuse Blvd and continue straight onto Battlefield Trail. The New Bern Civil War Battlefield Park will be on your right at 300 Battlefield Trail.

    From the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center, take the bike path along the waterfront heading east. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with E Front St. Turn left onto E Front St and continue until you reach Broad St. Turn left onto Broad St, biking for 0.3 miles. Then, turn right onto E 5th St and bike south for about 0.2 miles until you reach Neuse Blvd. Cross Neuse Blvd and ride straight onto Battlefield Trail for approximately 0.4 miles until you arrive at New Bern Civil War Battlefield Park, located at 300 Battlefield Trail on your right.

    For public transit, catch the Craven Area Rural Transit System (CARTS) bus route that services the area. Board the bus at the nearest stop to your location in downtown New Bern. Depending on the schedule, you may need to transfer at the New Bern Plaza to connect to the route that heads towards Battlefield Trail. Request to get off at the stop nearest to Battlefield Trail. Once you disembark, walk approximately 0.2 miles along Battlefield Trail to reach the New Bern Civil War Battlefield Park at 300 Battlefield Trail.
