To reach Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument from downtown Dayton, start by taking the RTA (Regional Transit Authority) bus number 5 from the Main Street bus stop. You will need to travel towards the intersection of 5th Street and Main Street. This bus runs regularly, so check the RTA schedule for the latest times. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the stop near the intersection of US-35 and US-42. From there, transfer to bus number 27, which will take you towards Wilberforce. Stay on this bus for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the stop closest to 1120 US-42. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the monument, which is located at the address 1120 US-42, Wilberforce, OH 45384.

If you prefer to bike, you can start from downtown Dayton and take the River Corridor Bikeway heading east. Follow the bikeway along the Great Miami River until you reach the intersection with US-35. From there, take the bike lane along US-35 towards Wilberforce. The ride is about 14 miles and will take roughly 1 hour. Once you reach the vicinity of Wilberforce, navigate towards US-42, and you will find the Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument at 1120 US-42. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic regulations.

Walking to the Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument is quite a long journey, as it is approximately 14 miles from downtown Dayton. Start at Courthouse Square and head southeast towards the Great Miami River. Follow the River Corridor Bikeway until you reach US-35. Continue eastward along US-35 until you reach the intersection with US-42. Turn left on US-42 and walk north for about 3 miles. The monument will be on your right at 1120 US-42, Wilberforce, OH 45384. This walk will take several hours, so ensure you have plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes.
