This was truly one of the most beautiful trips I have ever experienced in my life. I booked this tour through the communication team at OMAN COMPASS TOURS, and the itinerary included almost all the important places and experiences that I believe should be part of a first visit to Oman. One of the highlights of this trip was our guide, Saud, who has extensive experience in tourism. He was always ready to answer all our questions, very flexible with the timing and itinerary, and genuinely cared about our safety and comfort, especially during the hike at Wadi Shab. During the trip, we had the opportunity to witness sea turtles laying their eggs for the first time, as well as baby turtles hatching. We also enjoyed a camel-riding experience in the desert, along with a special complimentary experience from the company to ride beautiful purebred Arabian horses. We had the chance to taste traditional Omani cuisine at two different restaurants, including traditional Omani Shuwa, as well as a delicious seafood bucket after an enjoyable boat trip to the Daymaniyat Islands, where we went snorkeling. We also visited several castles and forts and learned about Oman’s ancient defensive strategies and history. What made the experience even more special was that our guide took us to additional places that were not originally included in the itinerary. I consider this a major advantage of the company, as they go beyond the standard program to make the experience more enjoyable and memorable. In the evenings in Muscat, the company’s team offered us a variety of optional activities, including events, visits to shopping malls, and walks along Al Qurum Beach, which was a particularly enjoyable experience. Regarding accommodation, we stayed in a 4-star hotel in Muscat and also experienced three very different types of accommodation during the trip: a beautiful seaside resort, a camp in the heart of the desert, and a hotel located at an altitude of around 2,300 meters. Staying in three different environments on consecutive nights added a wonderful variety to the trip. 2 Day Private Trip to Two Oasis with Overnight Desert Camping

Due to last-minute participant changes, only the guide/owner Yahia and I went on the trip. First stop was at Bimmah Sinkhole where I had some nice fish therapy for feet. After traditional and tasty Omanese lunch we headed at Wadi Shab. That place was a real gem! The hike to the pools was fun. We arrived at the desert camp just before sunset. We climbed up to the top of the dunes. It was surprisingly strenuous, but the magic of the sunset made it all worthwhile. After that Yahia prepared a delicious barbeque dinner for us. I slept very well in the desert camp under two blankets, wearing woolen layers. Early in the morning, we returned to the dunes to admire the indescribably beautiful sunrise. On the second day we visited Wadi Bani, which is also an adorable Oasis. It is more accessible to everyone and offers more services for visitors than Wadi Shab. I´m quite an experienced solo traveler, but I still gained new experiences from this trip. I felt safe and comfortable the whole time, and I was very well looked after. Since Yahia was cultured and cosmopolitan, we had some really interesting conversations about life in general. I warmly recommend this tour.
