Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, Hood River, OR. Head east on I-84 E for approximately 8 miles. Take exit 87 toward Mosier and turn left onto the Historic Columbia River Highway. Continue on this road for about 3 miles until you reach Rowena Crest Viewpoint, located at 6500 Historic Columbia River Hwy, Mosier, OR 97040. There is no entry fee for the viewpoint.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) bus service. Board a bus heading towards Mosier. Upon arrival in Mosier, you may need to use a rideshare service or taxi to reach Rowena Crest Viewpoint, as it is about a 2-mile walk from the bus stop to the viewpoint. Always check the CAT schedule ahead of time for the latest routes and times.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, the Historic Columbia River Highway offers a scenic route. Starting from Hood River, bike east on the highway, which is about 11 miles to Rowena Crest Viewpoint.   Walking to Rowena Crest Viewpoint is not recommended due to the distance and lack of sidewalks along the highway. However, if you're staying nearby in Mosier, you can walk to the viewpoint via the Historic Columbia River Highway. It is approximately a 2-mile walk from the center of Mosier, but be cautious of traffic and be sure to wear appropriate footwear.
