Car
If you are driving, take Interstate 84 eastbound from Portland. Continue for about 40 miles until you reach Exit 44 for Cascade Locks. Merge onto the Historic Columbia River Highway. Follow the highway for approximately 2 miles, and you will see signs for Starvation Creek Falls. There is a parking area on the right side of the road where you can park your car. Please note that there may be a small parking fee, so be sure to have cash or a card ready.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, you can take the Columbia Gorge Express from Portland to Cascade Locks. The bus runs daily and provides beautiful views of the Gorge. Once you arrive at the Cascade Locks stop, you can either walk or take a local taxi service to reach Starvation Creek Falls. It’s about a 1.5-mile walk along the Historic Columbia River Highway. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for the most current departure times.
Hiking
For those already in the vicinity and seeking an adventurous approach, you can hike from the nearby Starvation Creek Trailhead. The trailhead is accessible via the Historic Columbia River Highway. The hike to the falls is roughly 1 mile and offers stunning scenery along the way. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear and bring water, as the trail can be steep in sections.
