Car
From Portland, OR, take I-84 E towards The Dalles. After about 40 miles, take exit 44 for Cascade Locks. At the exit, turn left onto Cascade Locks Hwy/OR-35. Continue on this road for about 2 miles. You will see signs for Wahclella Falls Trailhead. Turn left onto the road leading to the trailhead parking area. There is a small parking fee of $5, which can be paid at the pay station upon arrival.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, board a Greyhound or Amtrak train to Cascade Locks. Once you arrive at the Cascade Locks train station, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the Wahclella Falls Trailhead. The distance from the station to the trailhead is approximately 2 miles, and taxi fares typically range from $10 to $15.
Hiking
Once you reach the Wahclella Falls Trailhead, you'll find a clearly marked trail. The hike to the falls is about 1.5 miles one-way and is considered moderate in difficulty. Be sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes, and bring plenty of water. The trail is well-maintained, but it can be rocky and steep in sections. Follow the trail signs to enjoy stunning views and the beautiful falls at the end.
