Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the Columbia River Highway (also known as Historic Highway 30). From Portland, take I-84 East towards The Dalles. Take exit 44 for Cascade Locks and follow the signs to the Columbia River Highway. Once on the highway, drive for about 10 minutes until you see the signs for Starvation Creek Falls. There is a parking area just off the highway where you can park your vehicle.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take the Columbia Gorge Express bus from Portland to Cascade Locks. The bus departs from the Gateway Transit Center and offers a scenic ride through the Gorge. After arriving at the Cascade Locks bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile along the Columbia River Highway to reach Starvation Creek Falls. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may vary. There is no fare for the bus, but donations are appreciated.
Hiking
Once you reach the parking area or bus stop, follow the well-marked trail that leads to Starvation Creek Falls. The hike is relatively short, approximately 0.5 miles, and offers beautiful views along the way. The trail is moderately steep, so be prepared for some elevation gain. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring water for the hike.
