Getting There

  • Car

    If you are starting from Bend, Oregon, take US-97 South for approximately 90 miles until you reach the intersection with OR-31. Turn left onto OR-31 South and continue for about 44 miles. You'll pass through the small town of Lakeview. In Lakeview, take a right onto US-395 South. Drive for about 50 miles until you reach OR-140 East. Turn left onto OR-140 East and follow it for approximately 19 miles. Then, turn right onto Hart Mountain Road (you will see a sign for the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge). Continue for about 11 miles on Hart Mountain Road until you reach the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge Visitor Center located at 38782 Hart Mountain Rd, Plush, OR 97637.

  • Public Transportation + Car

    If you prefer to use public transportation, take a bus from Bend to Klamath Falls using the Cascades East Transit. Once in Klamath Falls, rent a car from a local rental agency. From Klamath Falls, head north on US-97 for approximately 40 miles, then follow the same driving instructions as outlined for those coming from Bend by taking OR-31 South, US-395 South, and OR-140 East to Hart Mountain Road. This route will lead you to the Visitor Center.

  • Car from Medford

    For those traveling from Medford, take I-5 North and then exit onto OR-62 East. Continue on OR-62 until you reach the junction with US-97 North. Take US-97 North for about 65 miles, then turn onto OR-31 South for approximately 44 miles. After passing through Lakeview, follow US-395 South and OR-140 East as described earlier to reach Hart Mountain Road. This will take you directly to the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge Visitor Center.
