Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, ensure you are already inside Crater Lake National Park. From the park entrance at the South Entrance, follow the Crater Lake Scenic Byway (North Entrance Road) for approximately 20 miles. The road is well-marked, and you will pass several scenic viewpoints along the way. As you approach Rim Village, you will see signage directing you to the Rim Village Visitor Center. There is a parking area available for visitors.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Rim Village Visitor Center. Visitors can use local shuttle services that operate during the peak season (typically late June to early September). To utilize this service, you should check the schedule in advance and board at designated stops within Crater Lake National Park. Ensure to arrive at the shuttle stop early, as spaces may be limited. The shuttle will take you directly to Rim Village, with stops at major points of interest along the route.

• Walking or Hiking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Rim Village and prefer to walk or hike, there are several trails leading to the Visitor Center. The most popular is the Rim Trail, which offers stunning views of the lake. Be mindful of trail markers and maps available at various points in the park for navigation. Walking from nearby accommodations or campsites may take about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your starting point.
