Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop at Cascade Locks. From there, transfer to the Route 2 bus towards Multnomah Falls. Get off at the Multnomah Falls stop. Once you disembark, follow the signs for Horsetail Falls which is approximately a 1.5-mile walk along the Historic Columbia River Highway.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can bike to Horsetail Falls. Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Hood River, such as Hood River Bicycles. Start your ride heading west on Oak Street and merge onto the Historic Columbia River Highway. Continue on the highway; be sure to watch for signs directing you to Horsetail Falls. The ride is approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your speed, and offers stunning views along the way.

Continue along this road for about 8 miles. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery. Once you see the sign for Horsetail Falls, take the short trail from the highway down to the waterfall. This is a long walk, so be prepared with plenty of water and snacks.
