Car
From any location within Jefferson County, head towards Highway 97. If you're in Madras, take Highway 97 south. If you're in Warm Springs, take Highway 26 and connect to Highway 97. Once on Highway 97, drive south until you reach the junction with Highway 197. Take Highway 197 south towards The Dalles. Continue on this highway until you reach the exit for Cascade Locks (Exit 64). Follow the signs to Cascade Locks, and once in town, look for the signs directing you to Sherrard Point. The final stretch involves turning onto Forest Road 1230, which will lead you directly to the parking area for Sherrard Point.
Public Transportation
While public transportation options are limited in Jefferson County, you can utilize the Cascades East Transit service if you are near Madras or Warm Springs. Use the bus service to get to The Dalles, where you can transfer to a regional bus heading towards Cascade Locks. Confirm the schedule in advance, as services may not be frequent. Once you arrive in Cascade Locks, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Sherrard Point, as it is a few miles from the bus stop.
Hiking
