Car
If you are traveling by car within Linn County, start by heading to Highway 20 (Corvallis-Lebanon Highway) if you are near Corvallis or Lebanon. Follow Highway 20 East towards Sweet Home. Once you reach Sweet Home, you will want to merge onto Highway 228. Continue on Highway 228 for about 21 miles until you reach the junction with Highway 126. Turn right onto Highway 126, which you will follow for approximately 25 miles to reach Blue River. Once in Blue River, you will see signs for Willamette National Forest. The forest is located at the coordinates 44.10539° N, -122.17573° W. Keep in mind that parking fees or day-use fees may apply at various sites within the forest.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you will need to take the Linn-Benton Loop bus service from your location in Linn County to Albany Transit Station. From Albany, take the Greyhound or another regional bus service towards Eugene. Once in Eugene, transfer to the Lane Transit District bus service and take the bus towards Blue River (check the schedule as it may not be frequent). Upon arriving in Blue River, you may need to walk or take a taxi to the entrance of Willamette National Forest, as public transport may not reach the forest directly. Be aware of the bus schedules for your return trip, as services can be limited.

Bicycle
If you're adventurous and prefer to bike, you can start from Lebanon and take the scenic route along the banks of the Santiam River. Follow the back roads that connect to Highway 20, then merge onto Highway 228 as described for car travel. The ride is approximately 35 miles, so prepare accordingly with water, snacks, and a map. Be cautious of traffic on the highways and make sure to wear a helmet and reflective gear.
