Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start by heading towards Government Camp, Oregon. From Highway 26, take the exit for Government Camp and follow E. Government Camp Loop Road. Follow Unnamed Road until you arrive at the Mt Hood unit, which is well-marked. There is no entry fee for the recreation area, but check for any seasonal road closures or conditions.

  If you prefer public transportation, take the Columbia Gorge Express from Portland or Hood River. This service operates seasonally and offers routes to Government Camp. Once you arrive at Government Camp, you will need to arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the Mount Hood National Recreation Area - Mt Hood unit, as it is not directly accessible by public transport. Expect to pay approximately $20-$30 for the taxi or rideshare from Government Camp to the recreation area.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous cyclist, biking to the Mt Hood unit can be a rewarding experience. Use the roads leading into Government Camp and then take the scenic routes that lead towards Unnamed Road.
