Car
From any point in Mount Hood National Forest, head east on Highway 26 toward Government Camp. Continue on Highway 26 until you reach the junction with Highway 35. Take a left onto Highway 35, which will lead you toward Hood River. Continue on Highway 35 for approximately 25 miles. As you approach Hood River, keep an eye out for the exit signs directing you to downtown Hood River. Take the exit for Oak Street and turn left onto Oak Street. Continue on Oak Street until you reach Railroad Street, then turn right. The Mount Hood Railroad will be located on your right at 110 Railroad Street, Hood River, OR 97031. There is typically free parking available nearby.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from the Mount Hood area to Hood River. The Columbia Area Transit (CAT) provides service to Hood River from various locations in the Mount Hood region. Check the CAT schedule for the most convenient route and times. Once you arrive in Hood River, disembark at the stop nearest to downtown. From there, walk to Railroad Street, which is about a 10-minute walk. Head south on 7th Street, then turn left onto Oak Street and continue until you reach Railroad Street. Turn right, and the Mount Hood Railroad will be on your right at 110 Railroad Street.
