If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Head northwest on the Neelum Road (N-65) for approximately 55 km until you reach the town of Sharda. From Sharda, continue on the same road for another 15 km until you reach the junction that leads towards Baral. Take the left turn and follow the signs towards Baral Fort. After about 10 km, you will arrive at Baral Fort, located at the coordinates 33.6369477, 73.7037818. Make sure to check the road conditions, as some areas may be narrow or unpaved. Parking is available near the fort.

Public Transportation
For those traveling by public transport, you can take a bus from Muzaffarabad to Sharda. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station in Muzaffarabad. The fare is approximately PKR 300 and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Sharda, you will need to hire a local taxi or rickshaw to take you to Baral Fort. This ride should cost around PKR 500-700 and will take about 30 minutes. Ensure that the driver knows the location as it is a popular destination.

If you are adventurous and prefer hiking, you can walk from Sharda to Baral Fort. This is a scenic route through the hills and takes about 3-4 hours on foot. Start from the main road in Sharda and follow the path leading toward Baral. Make sure to wear good hiking shoes and carry water and snacks with you, as there are no shops along the way. The distance is around 10 km, and the views are breathtaking.
