Getting There

Car
If you are driving from Skardu city, take the Skardu-Yugo Road (also known as the Skardu to Yugo Road). The sanctuary is approximately 30 kilometers from Skardu city. Follow the road signs toward Yugo and enjoy the scenic views along the way. The drive will take about 45 minutes depending on road conditions. Make sure to refuel in Skardu, as there may not be many facilities along the way.

Public Transportation (Minibus)
From Skardu, you can take a minibus or shared taxi heading towards Yugo. These vehicles can be found at the Skardu bus station. The fare is usually around 150-200 PKR per person. The ride will take approximately 1 hour, and the minibus will drop you off near the entrance of the Baltistan Wildlife Sanctuary. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they will stop at the sanctuary.

Hiking/Walking
If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can hike to the sanctuary from Yugo. After reaching Yugo by minibus, you will need to ask locals for the hiking trails leading to the sanctuary. The hike is moderately challenging and will take about 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear good hiking shoes and carry plenty of water.

Local Transport (Rickshaw or Bike Rental)
In Yugo, you can also hire a local rickshaw or rent a bike to get to the Baltistan Wildlife Sanctuary. Rickshaws typically cost around 300-500 PKR for a round trip. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. If you choose to rent a bike, expect to pay around 500 PKR for the day. This is a great way to explore the surrounding area at your own pace.
