Bus
From Gilgit, head to the main bus station, which is located near the central bazaar. Look for buses or vans heading towards Chilas. The fare is typically around PKR 500-700. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Ask the driver to drop you off at Bab-e-Chilas or the nearest point to the attraction.
Shared Taxi
At the Gilgit bus station, you can also find shared taxis that go to Chilas. These are usually faster than buses but might be slightly more expensive, costing around PKR 1000-1500. Once you're in the taxi, confirm with the driver that you want to go to Bab-e-Chilas. The journey will take about 2-3 hours.
Hiking/Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and are already in the vicinity of Chilas, you can hike to Bab-e-Chilas. Ensure you have a local guide or a map. Start from the center of Chilas town, following the Bazar Road towards the mountains. The hike is moderately challenging and may take between 1-2 hours depending on your pace.
