Walking
Start your journey from the center of Gilgit city, near the main bazaar. Head northwest on Karakoram Highway (KKH) towards the Gilgit River. After approximately 1 km, keep an eye out for the local signs indicating the way to Upper Jutial. You may ask locals for directions to Jutial Jamatkhana, as this is a notable landmark. Continuing on foot, take the small path leading uphill towards Upper Jutial. The trail will wind through residential areas and local farms, providing a glimpse of daily life in the region. Follow the signs for Jutial Barmus Trail. It should take about 30-45 minutes of brisk walking to reach the starting point of the trail, which is near the Jutial Jamatkhana.
Public Transport
From Gilgit city, locate a local 'Chingchi' (a shared auto-rickshaw). Ask the driver to take you to Upper Jutial or Jutial Jamatkhana. The fare is usually low, around PKR 30-50. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Jamatkhana, you can follow the footpath leading to the Jutial Barmus Trail. If you are unsure, ask locals for guidance to the trailhead.
